The history of 1st Vienna ArtPark

In April 2016, the project "Street/Art - Art on the Fence" was conceived based on the idea of Peter Knoll. Sonia Siblik acted as the idea and concept developer. This first concept was developed for the Börseviertel association with the aim of giving the neighborhood a boost. The event was to take place in Hermann Gmeiner Park, Börseplatz 1010 Vienna. From 2016 to 2022, the project was organized for the Börseviertel association. In 2023, Siblik separated from the association and took her project with her. However, she gave it a new polish and a new name: "1st Vienna Art Park".

The project is designed as an open-air platform and cultural meeting place in the Börsepark. Artists will be given an open-space gallery for their artworks for one day. The park will become a meeting place for art lovers and creators, an art marketplace and a creative zone. The project was developed in collaboration with and on the suggestion of potential artists.

art buyers and collectors, so that the artists can actually come into contact with a potentially high-caliber and, above all, art-interested audience. At the same time, an attractive supporting program with well-known Viennese musicians also motivates a broader public to enjoy art. Accompanying childcare and the undisturbed playground in the park make "1st Vienna ArtPark" a family event.

This concept, which is based on successful actions in other European cities, offers a unique opportunity to enrich the cultural scene in Vienna. The "1st Vienna ArtPark" project, which has already been successfully carried out seven times under the name Börseviertel Street/Art - Art on the Fence, aims to offer artists a platform to present their works.

In the art world, many artists have difficulty showing or selling their works in galleries because they lack the necessary experience and the right contacts. This is where the "1st Vienna ArtPark" project comes in, offering a unique opportunity to help these artists present their works to a wider audience and thus also improve their income. The project enables the artists to sell their artworks directly without the association receiving a commission.

The project not only supports the artists, but also offers the opportunity to build work networks and explore new career opportunities. Participants thus have the opportunity to network with other artists and expand their skills and knowledge.

With your support, we can enrich the cultural scene in Vienna and at the same time help artists present their works to a wider public. You can also benefit from working with us and present your company as a supporter of this cultural project. Become part of our project and help promote the art scene in Vienna.
