Nahuales
A Nahual is a term from Mesoamerican culture, particularly the Aztec and Maya. In these cultures, it was believed that every person has a spiritual companion or guardian spirit, known as a Nahual. The Nahual is often depicted as an animal and is said to help humans, protect them or guide them on their path in life. In many traditions, belief in the Nahual played an important role in spiritual practice and daily life. This exhibition aims to introduce the audience to the different conceptions of this term in Latin America through the participating artists presenting their own explanations of it."
